April at the Hub: A Season of Celebration and Fresh Spring Flavour
We’ve had a wonderful few weeks at the Chalke Valley Hub, filled with gratitude, achievement and plenty of exciting new offerings for our community.
A Big Thank You to Our Amazing Volunteers
On 14th April we hosted a special thank-you party to celebrate the dedication and hard work of our fantastic team of volunteers. Our brilliant new cook, Ali Blackwell, prepared a delicious spread, and our Chairman, Derek Brown, generously provided the wine. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and an even bigger thank you to all our volunteers who give their time, energy and heart week after week. The Hub simply wouldn’t run without you!
Proud Award Win
We were delighted to receive a Highly Commended Social Value Award at the Salisbury Business Excellence Awards 2026 on 20th March. This recognition means a great deal to the whole team and is a wonderful tribute to the positive impact our community hub continues to make.
Spring Highlights in the Shop
Our food range keeps expanding to bring you more choice and quality:
- Cook frozen ready meals are proving incredibly popular with an even wider selection now available in the freezers.
- We’ve extended our range of premium chocolates, biscuits and baked goods from Holleys Fine Foods, perfect for enjoying at home or gifting.
- Hames Chocolate Cremes in a variety of flavours have been flying off the shelves.
Fresh seasonal produce is also in full swing. Look out for the much-loved Heritage Isle of Wight tomatoes and the first delicious bunches of Wye Valley asparagus, ideal for bright spring meals.
New Treats in the Café
Ali has been baking up a storm! Come and try her latest creations:
- Chocolate Millionaire’s Shortbread
- Lemon Yoghurt Cake
- Key Lime Pie
We’ve also refreshed our lunchtime menu so there’s plenty to enjoy whether you’re popping in for a coffee or staying for a proper meal.
