Our Community Hub’s Royal Recognition
We’re thrilled to announce that our Chalke Valley Community Hub has been awarded the prestigious King’s Award for Voluntary Service. This incredible honour, equivalent to an MBE for volunteer groups, recognizes our dedicated service to the community.
Since we started in 2013, we’ve grown into an essential resource for our area, running both a shop and Post Office that serves eight villages in our beautiful Chalke Valley. We’re especially proud that everything we do is accomplished through the hard work of over 70 volunteers.
This powerful image represents not just the award itself, but the strong community partnerships and support network that have helped make the Chalke Valley Community Hub such a success.

Our Community Impact
We’ve become more than just a shop – we’re a meeting place where our neighbours connect, access vital services and find support. During difficult times, including the COVID-19 pandemic, we stepped up to ensure our vulnerable community members had everything they needed.
A Proud Achievement
Receiving the King’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest honour available to volunteer groups in the UK, fills us with immense pride. This recognition validates our years of dedicated service and shows what communities can achieve when we work together.
Our Future
This milestone inspires us to continue our work with renewed energy. We hope our success will encourage other communities to start similar initiatives, showing how local volunteer efforts can transform neighbourhoods.
We look forward to the formal presentation of our award later this year by the Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire, who will represent His Majesty The King.
