Thank you all for your tremendous support in 2023, both those from The Chalke Valley and beyond during the difficult times we’ve all faced in 2023. We look forward to serving you soon.
Our new website is now up and running, as some of you may have seen. It will be enhanced with more pictures and more news on a regular basis and your comments will be most gratefully received.
On behalf of all our customers in the Villages we serve, we offer our thanks to all our volunteers for their help during 2023 and especially over the Festive period. You all play a most important part in the Shop’s success.
Home deliveries: Whilst we’re not operating a major delivery operation, like we did during COVID, we will be pleased to deliver shopping, especially to our vulnerable customers. If you need anything, please call the Shop on 01722 780998.
What’s New in the Shop: Fresh locally produced meat will be supplied by Clark’s The Butcher of Sixpenny Handley from January. Our regular favourites will continue:
- Henderson’s superb bread, shop baked croissants & pastries – fresh in on Saturdays
- Delicious baked cakes everyday
- Fresh fruit & veg which are delivered daily from Arthur David
There will be a New Menu in the Café/Coffee Shop so do come and try Jayne’s new dishes, on offer from January.
Finally, Tony wants to know: “Who ate all the pies?” The answer, we found, was that you did! We hit a record for sales of our luxury mince pies, with sales of 605 being the highest we’ve ever had over any festive period since the Shop opened. Brilliant!

Special note: There is a Trussell Trust Collection Point in the Hub for any donations of foodstuffs you may wish to make. Your generosity, especially at this time, will help those most in need.
