Our new chef, Ali Blackwell, has been with us for a month now and she is such an asset to our organisation. If you haven’t yet sampled her cooking, we thoroughly recommend a visit to the café at the Hub. In addition to our regular menu items she is contributing to the range of cakes we sell in the café and her banana cake and yoghurt cake have proved very popular. Pancakes on Shrove Tuesday were a great success so we look forward to more surprises from her! We are very happy that she has joined us and she is definitely making her own mark on the café and what we can offer.

Moving on the the Shop

Moving on to the Shop, the Cook range of frozen meals has been in stock for a few weeks now and is proving to be very popular.  You will find it in two Cook freezers just inside the café.  There is a good choice of one and two portion meals to suit most palates.

Bread Run – Help Wanted!

We know how much our customers enjoy the fresh bread from Hendersons’ Bakery in Salisbury that we stock every Saturday. To have it ready for when we open on Saturday mornings, someone needs to make an early drive to collect it. We are currently short of volunteers for this task.

If you are able to help once in a while – perhaps just once a month – it would be very much appreciated.

Please email Tony tony@chalkevalleystores.co.uk if you can lend a hand. We really hope to continue offering this popular range of breads every Saturday.

Get Involved…

Once again we are appealing for a community minded adult to get involved with the running of the Hub by becoming our secretary. Terry Jolly has held this role for many years but is standing down and ready to pass the baton on.

The roll requires someone who would work to ensure the smooth running of our organisation, in particular, preparing compliance documents for filing online, preparing agendas and minutes of meetings, processing share applications, maintaining the share register, dealing with insurance and ensuring compliance with our Rules.

Terry is happy to be involved in providing some training. We’re looking for someone who is happy to work on a voluntary basis as part of a team, share knowledge and help to arrive at consensus decisions.

The secretary does not just carry out administrative tasks but can actively take part in the running of the Hub so it is a rewarding post.

Please contact Derek Brown (derek.brown45@btinternet.com) if you are interested.
