Enjoy Our New Summer Menu at the Café

Have you tried the bubble tea?

We have recently introduced our summer menu in the café.

We try where possible to use local ingredients and you will find Chalke Stream trout and eggs from Pitton in one of our breakfast specials – delicious scrambled eggs with smoked trout. We also use beef from WS Clarke & Son in Sixpenny Handley and various local cheeses to choose from in our new dish – a traditional ploughman’s lunch.

We have focussed on providing lighter lunches to match the current season and these include a prawn cocktail salad, and a new range of wraps with a variety of tasty fillings which are already proving popular. We will of course continue to serve samosas and paninis which are old favourites in the cafe.

Our chef, Jay Baker has now been with us for 9 months and has asked to say on his behalf how much he has appreciated the support for the café which you have given him since his arrival. Please let him know if you have any special requests for meals, which he will try to accommodate within reason. We are always happy to listen to requests and feedback.

We do hope you will keep coming and enjoying what our café has to offer. As mentioned above the café hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 2.30pm and Saturday 9am to 11.30am. On Saturdays we can only provide hot drinks and cakes but there will generally be a good variety to choose from.

Sometimes we are very busy so please book a table if you are a group of more than six people or if you want to be sure we will have space available.

In the shop, business continues as usual and we have been selling huge numbers of ice creams and cold drinks in the recent hot weather. Come and try our new bubble tea which we have started to supply. If you haven’t tried it before, it’s unusual and very refreshing.
